What if you took AI grocery shopping, into the kitchen, and under the hood?

What could you save? Time. Money. Frustration. Maybe more.

Most people know AI can answer questions, write something, or help with office work. That is not what this workshop is about.

See what happens when AI leaves the blank chat box and starts working with the things already around you. No technical background required.

What If You Took AI Grocery Shopping, Into the Kitchen, and Under the Hood? event artwork

Start with ordinary life

AI gets more interesting when it leaves the chat box.

A lot of people still experience AI as a better search box: ask a question, get an answer. Current tools can do much more when they are given useful context from the world around you.

A receipt. A photo. Ingredients in your kitchen. A product label. A confusing set of choices. Something that is not working. A trip you are trying to plan. A purchase you are trying not to regret.

Not because AI should run your life. Because another way to examine a problem can save time, money, frustration—or simply help you figure out what to do next.

What we'll do together

See the boundary move. Then try it yourself.

01

Take AI into everyday decisions

Explore grocery shopping, comparing products, meal planning, travel, household decisions, research and planning, confusing choices, figuring out where to start. The goal is not to hand decisions over to AI, but to understand them better.

02

Bring it into the physical world

Work with photos and receipts, ingredients and packaging, appliance or product information, written instructions and error messages, descriptions of what is happening, multiple pieces of information to compare. AI does not have to begin with a perfectly written question.

03

Keep yourself in charge

Learn where AI gets things wrong, what to verify, what not to share, when to ask for evidence, and when an expert is still the right answer. The human stays in the loop. Always.

What could you save?

Sometimes the best result is simply less friction.

Time

Handle some of the mechanical work in researching, comparing, organizing, planning, and figuring out what to do next.

Money

Compare purchases, notice tradeoffs, work with what you already have, and prepare better questions before spending.

Frustration

Break a messy situation into smaller pieces, explain the unfamiliar, and find a reasonable place to begin.

Maybe more

Gain clarity, confidence, another perspective, a better question, or the ability to attempt something you might have avoided.

Come as you are

Curiosity is enough.

Bring a ready device, if you like

  • A fully charged laptop is ideal; a phone or tablet is completely welcome.
  • Charging may not be available, so arrive with enough battery for the session.
  • You are also welcome to observe, ask questions, and learn without using AI yourself.

No special background required

  • No prior AI experience, technical knowledge, coding skills, paid subscription, or business use case.
  • No polished question and no intention of becoming an “AI person” required.
  • Regular AI users are welcome too; this session moves beyond asking a question and getting an answer.

Bring something real

Try it with something from your own life.

If you want to participate hands-on, bring one ordinary situation you would like to think through. You do not need to know whether AI can help. That is part of what we are there to explore.

You might come for…

  • something you are considering buying
  • a grocery or meal-planning problem
  • a household project or product question
  • a trip or outing you are planning
  • several options you are struggling to compare
  • a repetitive task you are tired of doing
  • a problem where you do not know where to start

Good to know

Questions, welcome.

Is this for beginners?

Yes. No technical experience is expected. The workshop makes sense whether you have never used AI or have experimented casually.

Is this only for beginners?

No. People who already use ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, or other tools are welcome. We will move beyond the familiar question-and-answer pattern.

Is this an AI productivity or business class?

No. The examples focus on ordinary life: shopping, food, household situations, comparison, planning, troubleshooting, and decisions.

Do I need an AI account or paid subscription?

No. You can observe and join the discussion without using a tool. Free access to an AI assistant may be helpful if you want to try things hands-on, but paid access is not required.

Should I trust AI with repairs, health, money, or other important decisions?

No tool should replace appropriate professional expertise or your own judgment. We will discuss verification, limits, privacy, and how AI can help you prepare better questions.

Will this teach me to let AI make decisions for me?

No. The goal is the opposite: use AI to understand, compare, organize, investigate, and think. You remain responsible for the decision.

Do I need to register?

No. Registration is not required, but it is encouraged because seating is limited to 25 participants. Walk-ins are welcome as space allows.

How much does it cost?

The workshop is free. Registration is not required, but it is encouraged because seating is limited to 25 participants.

Who may attend?

The class is intended for adults. Participants who are 16 or 17 may attend with a legal guardian who also has a registered seat.
