What I Did With AI This Week

Paperwork, shipping mistakes, mechanics, and plants

A few ways I used AI that saved me time, cut down on mistakes, or made an annoying job easier.

I got through a pile of medical paperwork faster

I had a multi-page medical form sitting in an email.

I gave AI the forms and used it to help pull together information I already had, spot what was still missing, and work through only the unanswered parts. I never even had to open the email myself and start digging through the attachments.

What I got out of it: Less time filling out forms and less chance of missing something important.

Why AI was useful: I could give it the whole form and focus only on the parts that actually needed my attention.

I fixed an eBay shipping mistake before it got worse

I messed up a shipping label and needed to know what I could do next.

AI helped me figure out whether I could cancel it and create another one.

What I got out of it: A quick answer before a small mistake turned into a bigger headache.

Why AI was useful: I could explain exactly what I had already done and get an answer for that situation instead of digging through generic help pages.

I gave a mechanic something better than “it dies sometimes”

Our motorhome had an intermittent stalling problem.

I used AI to help organize what was happening and turn it into a clearer explanation for the mechanic.

What I got out of it: A better starting point for the person who actually knew how to fix it.

Why AI was useful: I could dump in the messy symptoms and get back a cleaner list of what mattered.

I stopped guessing what was wrong with my plants

Yellow leaves. Bugs. Strange spots. Things growing where I did not remember planting them.

I used photos and descriptions to help narrow down what I was looking at and what might be causing it.

What I got out of it: Fewer random guesses and a faster idea of what to check next.

Why AI was useful: I could start with a picture of my actual plant instead of first having to figure out the right search words.

I spent less time on paperwork.

I fixed a mistake faster.

I handed off a problem better.

And I guessed less in the garden.

Mostly, I saved myself some aggravation.
